Still watching the house I put a bid in on (and won), that the bank did not accept. They drop it in price every now and again, so when they get into the price range I offered (which is currently $5,000 more than my second offer on it -- and I am being stubborn about not going any higher), I will agree on the price. Until then it is a cat & mouse game. I keep a eye on it.
With the monsoon rains which happened in California this last week, I would be inclined to plant some lettuce anywhere in/at my home, even in indoor window boxes if you tend to eat alot of salads. When this happened the last time about this time of year, 6-7 years ago, I remember the price of lettuce being $9CA a head as alot of the salad crops were destroyed due to the flooding. So if you eat alot of salads, you may want to plan ahead.
Today I helped friends pull a couple 40 foot rows of carrots while they were putting the rest of their garden to bed for the winter. It was a easy sit down job for me which did not require bending or lifting anything heavy. However, my bum end of my stretchies got a little disastrous. It was nice to get all dirty in garden dirt and get dirt under my fingernails. Keeps me grounded with the Earth and Mother Nature. This was the first time/season in my life I have not had a garden, so it was a delight to help someone else in theirs, even if it was merely putting it to sleep for the winter.
