I started on a new sock today. I was not happy with the sock pair I am making for "B", so I decided to make another pair out of yarn which is not too special to experiment with what I wanted to do. I was also turning into a bit of a Smurf as the indigo was smudging off on me, so "B" is going to wash it before I knit with it again. The photo really is not doing the rust colour of the sock any justice. It is a nice rich colour with a muted yellow which pairs nicely with it. I have completely deked off the pattern and like this arrangement much better with the diamonds above echoing the ones below. I also experimented with the sock being 16 stitches on each needle at the top of the sock, 20 stitches for the band and 18 stitches for the body of the sock. I am not sure how long I will make it, probably mid-calf. I am glad I unraveled the blue sock and will rework the yarn into this pattern.

I got this much more done on the sock this
evening as I was trying to keep my hands busy as I am back to being itchy again,
to the point of not sleeping again. This time it seems to be the nights I am
drinking more milk than I have been recently (and since I was 19 years old, I
generally drink close to a gallon a day), so for an experiment, I am off milk
for a week and see if the extreme itchiness goes away. It could also be baby hormones or a temporary allergic reaction.
I am so happy to be blogging again.
