11th January 2010

Too soon my childhood friend will be leaving us to head back up to Canada, but I cannot be sad as she is gearing up to go out as an opening act for a major Canadian band. Finally her music career is taking off. But to have a bit of fun/ a break from working on the house before we part and as a thank you for all her wonderful help for the past  6 weeks, we headed down to the coast for an overnight visit. This morning before we came back to the valley, we woke to thunderstorms. But yesterday afternoon when we got down there, it was warm, although the sea was high and rough. The tidepools were out of the question. Too bad. I love to see the sea creatures.

On our walk, we found some Indian Marbles. They are a hard round rock the size of regular  marbles which we found in the cliffs. They are found in soft crumbling mud/rock/Schist type rock. I recently found out about them and found 3 within seconds and then it took another 20 minutes before we found the next one. It was also great to sleep in a real bed. "Sweetpea" and I slept like logs until the thunderstorm woke us up.

Tomorrow we are back to painting on the house and getting it done before carpet is laid. Soon.... soon....
