13th January 2010

Painting started today.. First we got the ceilings done and then all of the bathroom as the lino goes into the kitchen and bathroom on Friday. I took the wall plates from switches and such off the walls, removed the glass drawer pulls. We trimmed the edges and the moldings, then rollered the ceilings and then brushed all the wood in the bathroom to keep it looking like it had a patina to it. I love that it is the original bathroom in the century home.

I thought it was interesting that the paint trays were made of 100% recycled plastic AND it was biodegradable.

Later in the afternoon, my other friend came over, even with an injured foot (which she might have to have in a cast for many months) to help pull former carpet staples out of the floor and to change the baby for me when my hands were beyond the normal amount of paint on them that one has when one is painting.

Tomorrow we plan on having the bathroom, kitchen and livingroom completely done. The lino in on Friday, the clawfoot tub, the toilet and such back into the bathroom on Saturday.
