f you have been wondering where I have been the last few days, I have been working on the magazine to get it ready to print today. I just have to finish up one article, and get something from the health food store for it, as I failed to do so on Friday. Ever get that feeling you just want to stay at home that day? So this morning I have to finish it up.

But if you need some homesteading blogs to read, I highly suggest going and checking out Walkabout Linda and Amy's web blogs. They also live the homesteading lifestyle and are friends of mine. Amy contributes articles to "Down to the Roots" from time to time and Linda is one of my best supporters! Thanks guys!

Evening Update:

*Sigh* .. it never fails. For those of you who are now used to hearing of the "Curse of Print Day", today is not an exception. Summer 2005 took 3 days to print 24 hours a day on 3 home printers, Fall 2005 the 'professional printer' had clay on the press and it made marks all over the magazine, Winter issue 2005 was $15 per copy to print, hence why we got our own press now. When we bought our own press they lost it.. then a month later it finally showed up, but filled short of ink and then the black ink was backordered in all of North America and no one knew when they would get more back in. Finally got Winter 2005 and Spring 2006 put out at the same time. Summer 2006, called for a new digital camera as the old one decided to call it quits. Fall.. hmmm.. something happened with Fall 2006 as well, but that one escapes me at the moment.

So today was Winter 2006 press day.. I am ahead of schedual for once..  I have a person there who was willing to help me print, fold, staple and trim this issue with me.. we get to page 8 and the windstorm took out the electricity where the printing press lives. So we had to go home, but hopefully the power will be back on tomorrow and I can get at it again and then get help to collate, fold, staple and trim on Thursday. But being that we are still ahead of schedual, I am hoping, I can get it sent out before its normal release date of the 22nd.
