ower is still out and they do not anticipate it will be on again until tomorrow. I have banned anyone from opening the indoor refrigerator and all the stuff we usually use is sitting on the front porch. I told the kids that everything in the fridge that gets warm we will all have to eat today. They were all game for that and I had to say "NO!". All the schools in a 100 mile radius of us are closed, except our kids' school. They were most disappointed. Most of the town is closed. Amy and I are running to town for a few things. We can pull water out of the hand dug well, but it is better to get pure water from the friends of mine who own a water place downtown.

Listened to the football game on the hand crank radio last night. BC Lions won! The kids played "Clue" and a few people went to bed early. I read by windup flashlight until midnight and we fried cookies in the cast iron pan on top of the woodstove and ate ice cream.

I have to buy a new chimney for the oil lamp as it was broken at my birthday party in October. You would think that oil lamps, chimneys and lamp oil would be easy to find up here, but NOPE, they aren't. But that is one of my goals shopping today.

Life is pretty much normal around here, except for the lack of TV and the lights. Well.. we are having to bring in snow to melt so we can flush the toilets as well. "Kid" wanted us to build an outhouse (which we ought to anyway) and I said "are you helping" and he quickly backpedaled on that one.
