eet "Daisy".

We met her for the first time last night. After a week, the cattle came down to the house and the man who currently owns her gave us a call so we could go look at her. It took an hour to get to their place. Generator roaring as they are off-grid was the first thing I noted about the place. The other is they obviously have done alot of work to their place and their cabin has turned into a mansion. The first thing "V" asked was if I had brought one of my magazines for him as he had heard so much about it. I promised him I would bring him an issue when we came to pick up "Daisy".

"Daisy" is a 4 year old Jersey cow with a 4 month old ShorthornX steer calf at her side. She is currently range wild, but we are all sure she tame down easily and will be able to be handled. We could not take her home tonight as she had not come into the corrals to be pushed into the chutes. She is to be our milk cow. She looks sensible and seems to have a kind eye. I hope we will make friends quickly. She is bred back to a Gelbvieh (pronounced Gelp-fee) bull and it is unknown when she will freshen again. but she currently is in milk.. WooHoo!!

I cannot wait to have surplus milk.. milk, cheese, yogurt, butter..
