t 7 am this morning it was -8C/17F. As "Kid" said this morning as he went out the door to catch the school bus... "There's frost on the frost". I have to admit he was right. The woodstove has been going non-stop for 48 hours now. I should have cleaned it out the other day.. soon there will not be that many chances.

"Daisy" is still in the fence with her calf, though she has tried the fence in a spot she though was a likely escape route.. She really wants to get with the cattle across the roadway. Each day she is getting more tolerant of me? If there is anyone 'new' out there.. she focuses on them and is very spooky and ignores me. She did stick her nose in the grain bucket last night before she noticed a new person and then she became all agitated. I am going to give her a week and if I do not see alot of improvement, I am going to rope her and snub her to a stout tree, get a halter on her and proceed from there. I am not sure if I had mentioned yesterday, though it would have been more difficult for water, we ought to have put her and the calf into the round pen in the back 40. She would have had to deal with me better there.
