ow report day 4. Things have been looking bad enough that yesterday I was thinking I will not be able to touch this cow before 2007. She is very skitterish. My new thing for the last 2 days.. if you stand quietly, face me and put up with me nattering at you, I will not chase you around the pasture until you stop and face me. And if you do run away again, we will walk around the pasture again... and again and again..

...However, there was a breakthrough this morning as she stopped and lifted her neck out and stuck her nose in the shallow feed bucket I was carrying, though she did not try any. Off she ran and I was right after her. She stopped.. I stopped and I held out the bucket again and she stuck her nose into it and got a bit of grain. I took the bucket away. She moved.. I moved.. she stopped.. I offered the bucket, she ate, I took the bucket away. We did this about 6 times and the last time she had the last bit of grain, she was close enough, her horn touched my hand. So she obviously felt contact. I left it at that for the day. I tossed her 1/3 of a bale of hay until later so I have to interact with her again this afternoon. To be fair, I did offer the calf some grain too.. but though he is cute.. I think his elevator does not go all the way to the top.  He did not eat any.

All the pigs were fine this morning. Yesterday I had one lethargic one due to the cold. It was -8c/17f again this morning. 15c/59f inside my house this morning. A fire in the woodstove was a high priority. Three eggs from the hens again.

"Teenager" had surgery on his hand yesterday. Pins, wires.. that ends his football season again. The time previously, he broke his ankle. It is especially bad as the week before he was picked up by the BC Football League which is a stepping off spot for playing for people like the BC Lions (Canadian Football). He truly is a awesome player. If he was bad.. I'd tell ya.

The magazines are back today from the people who fold them ect. WOO HOO! I am packaging them up this afternoon and if I have luck, I will also get them mailed today. That said.. yesterday when I went to the large town well over two hours from here, I bought a saddle stapler and an industrial paper cutter, so hopefully I will not need to send any of the magazines out anymore and I can also not run out of back issues. If I need one for an order.. I can print one. I may also be able to re-do the original issue to be able to re-print that as I know there are alot of people who want to complete their set.
