uch a blustery day here today. I went to do chores this morning, and it started to rain. No big deal.. then it got really raining.. also no big deal, I am from Oregon after all. Then it started to hurt as it was now solidly hailing. The skies turned black and I had to dump the pig feed as fast as I could into the trough and run for cover. I waited until it blew over a bit before I went to feed the cattle.

The well driller called last night and said they would be here tomorrow (this) morning and after changing my day around to wait for them and having the anticipation of having water again, they never showed up. He called around 2 pm and said it would be 7-9 days before they got here. *sigh*

This afternoon I went to Amy's to help her get the rototiller started, since it is mine and she was not familiar with it. I asked her if she wanted to use the spare 3-hole rabbit cage I had here. I figured it is better that she uses it, versus having it get ruined in the weather. So "Kid" and I packed it up into the back of my truck and away we went.

When we arrived, Amy looked so very tired and she had 2 fence posts and crossbeams to take down. Me.. in my dubious wisdom, tied a couple tiedown straps to the items to be pulled out and then proceeded to run over Amy's newly planted Rhubarb plant.... and a rather large rock and almost got high centered. Got #1 , 2 & 3 items down, but in trying to make sure I did not ruin her Rhubarb plant, I proceeded to run over another one. No win for loosing on that! I felt terrible, but then I think all is well as the plant crown is not damaged. Then the second attempt at taking down the other wooden fence post, it broke in half instead of nicely peeling out of the ground like the previous one. This one however, was surrounded by rock of various sizes.

We got the rototiller started and it started bogging down and down... and down... after messing with it for a bit we determined perhaps a mouse nest was inside the air intake, since we could see alot of wadded up vegetation debris under the casing. We decided to shut it down to mess with it this weekend and we hung the rabbit cage up.

"Kid" and I raced home to get dinner going. We had leftover BBQ'd short ribs from last night along with fresh made French Onion Soup and garlic bread. I had 2 bowlfuls and have no desire to make dessert for anyone.
