ot the first eggs off the chickens.. just 2 and they are littler than they will eventually be.. but almost 5 months to the day of age and they started laying.
Got half my garden overhauled today. I hope to get it tilled soon. We have been burning 10 slash piles this weekend in our haste to get the fields cleared,
run the tractor with the disc over the top and seed them for pastures before spring.

pea fencing.
I forgot why I had 2 pairs of jeans on, but it got hot!
Got the call about my new cow.. I have not seen her yet, but I will probably take her. She is a 4 yr old Jersey with a calf and probably in-calf. The reason I have not seen her is she is running around on 1,200 acres. He said when she was up again, he would catch her up. I could not pass up the deal as with all the milk, cheese, butter ... just adding up the milk and butter alone we will have re-couped our money in less than 30 days. Really. If you figure it up.. 2 blocks of cheese is $50 plus tax.. $4 a gallon of milk x up to 3 a day = $12.. $4 per pound of butter X20 bars a month.. see where this is going?
Maybe soon I can build my smokehouse and make Smoked Gouda cheese mmmmmmm.
Also got my "Black Coco" beans shelled. I had them hanging in the greenhouse as I felt it was going to freeze that night (it did and I would have lost them if I hadn't), so I pulled and hung them. I have 150 bean seeds for next year? I will eventually count them before I bag them.
I am currently baking Cucumber bread and regular white bread at 12:36am for the boys' school lunch tomorrow as I actually forgot it was Sunday night. Ahhhh.. well it ought to slow down a bit this week. The magazine will be a few days late, but it will be out this week. I got behind being sick for 12 days..
and the black imaging unit dying on the press (evidently they are a consumable
which I did not realize).. sometimes it is difficult doing this mostly by myself. But I love writing
the magazine and everything else that goes with it..
