ent and got chicken feed today. It is a layer ration which I have been getting for the last month. It is a natural feed, without medications or animal by-products in it. I like that brand called "Whole Earth" as it is the closest thing we can get to organic feed here without growing it ourselves. With our corn failing this year (no one else grows corn up as high as we attempt here), it means we would have hungry chickens this winter.

I got to have fun today. I went to go ride a Percheron draft horse today. I was pretty impressed with myself in pulling myself up onto her. She was pretty smooth and she did not like to want to trot with me, but the few steps I got to do on her were odd.. it felt like slow motion. "Mouse's" owner is looking for a draft harness for her to start utilizing her around the farm for farm work and heavy hauling since the owner does not have a tractor or other heavy equipment.

Got another egg from the hens.. I can't wait until a can collect a full dozen in one day. The days are looking more and more fall-like. I love the glorious colours. The leaves started to fall off the Birches next to the root cellar.. with the rain, the pigs were happy as pigs.. they had their heads stuck down to China and then fling mud into the air and basically smile as they did it.
