"Down to the Roots" Organic Homesteading Magazine

What is homesteading anyway? The word "homestead" tends to bring to the mind of some people, of the stereotypical bearded men and long haired women in overalls milking goats, living remotely and tending organic gardens, a picture imbedded into our minds from the 'back-to-the-land' movement in the 1970's.

Homesteading today is not necessarily having 100 acres of land with trees to clear and build your own log cabin from. It is not having a milk cow, not having hundreds of feet of organic heirloom tomatoes to hoe. It is not just having to live off the land. It can be all of this, and yet it can be just a few mere aspects of it. It can be done from a third floor apartment, it can be done from a city lot, it can be a state of mind. The word "homesteading" I believed has evolved from the term that was used in years past. It is a simple living philosophy.

In the "Down to the Roots" Organic Homesteading Magazines, they don't just tell you how others have accomplished their dream, "Down to the Roots" homesteading magazine teaches you in step-by-step directions on how YOU can accomplish YOUR dream on your homestead, no matter where it is. This homesteading magazine has virtually no advertisements to wade though. There is 100% reading material and projects to learn from in "Down to the Roots" homesteading magazine.

From our homesteading magazines, which are written more like a book, you will learn to be eco-friendly, more self reliant and grow many of your own foods. Learn fiber arts, even if you think you can not knit or handspin. You can barter for space for gardening and keeping a small flock of chickens if you like, you can container garden in an apartment. Learn to reduce your footprint or even develop your own independent energy. "Down to the Roots" homesteading magazines are interested in preserving the old ways of farming, but also in more modern ways of living this homesteading lifestyle.

"Down to the Roots" Homesteading Magazine is one of the best homesteading magazines out there

Love the magazine -- what great content. We've been providing practical,
non-electric merchandise to the homesteading community for 55 years.

"I think "Down to the Roots" homesteading magazine is the best homesteading magazines being printed today. And I'm very calloused toward magazines of that type. This magazine is filled with info homesteaders today need to know about. A very hands-on friendly publication, unlike the other glossy slick publications who aim is to sell advertisements of stuff most of us have no use for. I subscribe to her magazine, and my budget does not allow me many luxuries. You see, Tenzi's  publication is a necessity. Even I find stuff that I didn't know about between the covers of her magazine. When her publication arrives in the mail, it's like a visit from an old friend."
