Autumn 2007

The Autumn 2007 issue of "Down to the Roots" magazine has alot of different projects for your home, animals and for fun in it.

Have you always wanted to weave and it looked a bit intimidating? Learn how to build a small lap loom and then in the next issue learn
how to warp it and weave on it. Our "For the Kid's Project" also is on fiber arts this month. Adults and kids alike will enjoy finger knitting.

Be safe when you are bringing in your winter's firewood. Find out the correct way to take care of and use your chainsaw.

Company coming? Or just need a quick spare bed? These easy to build and very inexpensive rope beds are known
in many parts of the world. You can usually build then with stuff you already have. Soft and comfy, I enjoy sleeping on the one I have made.
Whether for a cabin or a spare bed that quickly breaks down when the guests leave, it would be worth it to build one or more.

Do you raise your own pork? Make this very easy and mostly out of
recycled materials to keep your hogs from pushing their water trough all over the place.

Are you mad at your local weatherman? Check out the Folkloric weather predicting, which tends to be quite right.

As usual, this issue is just packed full of articles & recipes ...

In every issue, there are articles of keeping a naturally healthy home, fun projects for children and natural
beauty care are included. We really have fun with the kid's projects!! We hope you will too.
